Being able to combine an old time classic piece with iconic and timeless parts with today’s cutting edge design and technology and style, is considered to be the ultimate definition of creativity in the watchmaking history.
The Captain Cook, returns as a chronograph for the very first time, in updated, beautiful proportions thanks to a new, smaller automatic movement.
Nowadays, with a wide range of options, Rado’s “Master of Materials” presents not one, but three versions of their new chronograph, each in a different shades and strap/bracelet configuration, aiming to satisfy even the most demanding critics!
The timepiece’s straps justify the EasyClip system for quick, easy changes to suit the wearer’s mood or specific occasion, and come in a gorgeous custom case to keep everything safe between outings.
The new Captain Cook Chronograph has the beautiful, distinctive box-shaped glass on the outside, made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both displays.
The slimmer, more comfortable, and elegant 43mm case, is available in polished stainless steel or circular-brushed bronze, and contains a polished high-tech-ceramic inlay on the bezel, available in blue or black, as a perfect compliment to the flange and dial colour of the specific model.
The latter displays three gorgeous finishes: a silver-to-blue gradient, a silver-to-black gradient, and a blue sunray finish, looking stunning next to the appliquéd indices, markers, and numerals, which have Super-LumiNova®-treated essential parts for exceptional visibility even in low light.
Particularly, the minute hand’s strong and distinctive arrowhead tip, the hour hand’s distinctive arrowhead tip, and the second sweeper’s red tip make it simple to keep time at any time and whenever you go!
The anchor symbol is still a lovely addition to this timepiece, which now has a chronograph dial at 9 and a standard seconds hand at 3 o’clock, both of which are perfectly aligned with the lower date window at 6 o’clock.
The new Captain Cook Chronograph comes with two alternative straps made from different materials and colours, depending on the model.
The two stainless steel models include an identical three-row stainless steel bracelet with brushed central links and an extendable folding clasp, as well as an additional coffee-brown or blue leather strap with contrast stitching and a sporty NATO-style, woven nylon strap in blue or black with a steel pin-buckle closure.
The bronze-coloured model comes with a deep blue NATO-style strap, a blue leather strap with accent stitching, a NATO-style strap with a gold stripe along the middle, and a bronze pin-buckle closure on each of these straps.
This unique timepiece comes with a customised case designed to keep everything organised and was modelled after the durable, two-strapped treasure boxes used by early explorers and navigators.
The timber (FSC) box is secured by a durable, black diver-nylon exterior shell, and it has metal hardware around a plush, ivory-colored interior where you can safely store your spare straps and your favourite Rado while not in use.
All this has been designed and executed with unwavering accuracy and appealing good taste.
