OMEGA is always surprising us year after year. This year however, OMEGA is making one of the biggest watchmaking announcements on its iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch collection. Concentrating always on quality and precision the new updated Moonwatch collection has unique touches in design and of course powering inside with its new in-house Coaxial Master Chronometer certified anti-magnetic movement 3861.

To upgrade such an iconic watch is always difficult since it is very important to pay attention on every detail which must be true to its original spirit. Therefore OMEGA has given a slight vintage touch to look closer to the previous Professional Speedmaster models.

Starting with the Case, it still is 42mm and has short twisted lugs however the case is slightly thinner. The Bezel still remains aluminum however the dot now is over the 90 mark (for Speedmaster enthusiasts). It is 50m water resistant and the crown doesn’t screw down. On the classic version it still remains with Hesalite glass with OMEGA logo in the center and is domed, and a new step dial with OMEGA text printed. But on the Sapphire Version we have a sapphire glass front and on the back case which gives us access to see the beautiful new movement ticking. Also there is an applied OMEGA logo on the new step dial.

Calibre 3861 powered movement inside ensures that the Moonwatch will now be unaffected by extreme magnetic fields reaching 15000 gauss. Therefore ensures us that the watch is certified Master Chronometer and has a Metas Certificate which is the highest standard precision and performance in the Swiss watch industry. To prove all this all Speedmaster Moonwatch collection has 5 year warranty.

The bracelet has also been upgraded, now it offers a five arched links per row design similar to earlier Moonwatches. It has a new clasp as well with a polished OMEGA logo and vertical lines.

The Moonwatch family has grown, and now also comes in more options. The classic Hesalite model with bracelet or Nylon strap, the Sapphire model with bracelet or leather strap, The Sedna Gold model with bracelet or synthetic alligator strap, or the Canopus Gold model with bracelet or synthetic alligator strap.
