The renowned Swiss watchmaker OMEGA has gained a distinctive position for its innovations in the art of Tourbillon craftsmanship throughout its outstanding history.
With the debut of the new Omega De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition, there’s a new chapter in making history!
This remarkable timepiece is OMEGA’s first ever manual-winding central Tourbillon that has received Master Chronometer certification.
This accreditation not only ensures the Swiss watchmaking industry’s highest level of precision and performance, but it also stands as a “tribute” to OMEGA’s master watchmakers, who have created a tourbillon cage that continues to rotate even in a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss.
The Tourbillon’s speed was also set to one revolution per minute, which allowed for the display of seconds, which is considered fundamental to get the certification.
Through the sapphire crystal caseback, customers can see the amazing OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 2640, as well as the 3-day power reserve indicator.
The bridges and mainplate are constructed of 18K SednaTM gold and have been hand-bevelled for a decorative polish adding a deluxe elegance to the Omega De Ville!
The design, which blends the brand’s watchmaking competence and sophisticated materials, including two precious alloys, made renowned by OMEGA, goes beyond the exceptional accuracy. The 43.00 mm central casebody, buckle logo and crown logo, are all fashioned of 18K CanopusTM gold.
In addition, the exceptional white gold alloy is known for its high brilliance and longevity, and is presented on a black leather strap.
At the same time, the watch’s lugs, bezel, and caseback are made of 18K SednaTM gold, which is OMEGA’s own glowing rose gold alloy.
The sun-brushed dial is also made of 18K SednaTM gold, but the black PVD treatment has given the watch a striking dark shade.
The tourbillon cage with finely polished bevels in black ceramic titanium is also visible in the dial’s center.
This clever technology powers the movements of the timepiece’s unique and mysterious hands, which contributes to its renowned OMEGA design.
It is worth mentioning that each Omega De Ville was created by a select group of horologists at OMEGA’s Atelier Tourbillon and took around a month to finish.
This latest game-changing wristwatch is the next significant achievement in OMEGA’s Tourbillon history.
Other historical highlights include OMEGA’s creation of the first wristwatch Tourbillon calibre in 1947, which was put into precision competitions at three major European Observatories.
These calibres received remarkable performances, even breaking the world record in Geneva in 1950.
OMEGA developed the first self-winding Central Tourbillon wristwatch in 1994, about 50 years later, with the Tourbillon carriage standing in the center of the piece.
Ten years later in 2004, OMEGA released the first Chronometer-certified Tourbillon watches.
The new Omega De Ville Tourbillon Numbered Edition comes with OMEGA’s standard five year full warranty along with its distinctive packaging, including its own travel pouch and watch crown winder. There is also a certificate that specifies the serial number of each watch.
